Writing Task
You’ve been following the global debate on renewable energy, and you’ve noticed a persistent tension: while solar and wind power are becoming cheaper and more efficient, workers in coal and fossil fuel industries face redundancy and communities dependent on these industries face economic collapse. A tech entrepreneur and a coal union representative recently clashed on social media about whether governments should prioritize rapid decarbonisation or protect workers’ livelihoods. You decide to write a blog post exploring this tension for an audience of engaged young people who care about climate action but may not fully understand the human cost of the energy transition.
